Storyline

An aromatic resin is valued since ancient times for use in cosmetics, medicine and incense for the gods as frankincense is so valuable that, according to the story of Nativity/Bible, three astrologer/priests brought it to the infant Jesus (Peace be upon him) with gold and myrrh, another gum resin.

The-Revolutionary Solution

Two thousand years after the three wise men’s journey, Sanaag Aroma Organization together with Sanaag Aroma Company launches a new commercial initiative to making gum collection sustainable and viable, We are covering the largest supplies of the material destined to the local and international markets.
About 90 per cent of the world’s production of the aromatic resin comes from the Horn of Africa, predominantly from Almadow and Almiski Mountains, Somaliland. For us, the survival of our community or its disappearance can be a matter of just obliterating this susceptible sector.

Aromatherapy

The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) defines aromatherapy as “the therapeutic application or the medicinal use of aromatic substances (essential oils) for holistic healing.”

The practice of aromatherapy uses natural Frankincens and Myrrh extracts, such as essential oils, hydrosols, and carrier oils, in a variety of ways to heal the body, mind and spirit. It is the promotion and harmonization of emotional, physical and spiritual health through the application of these extracts. Aromatherapy is described as both an art and a science because it takes the knowledge of the scientific aspects of the plants and oils and combines it with the art of producing a beneficial blend. Basically, a successful aromatherapy blend is a synergy of science, art, and the practitioner’s knowledge of both, and how to apply it.
